A celebration of untamed bloom and quiet chaos, ‘The Meadow Knows’ is a 120 x 100 cm oil and mixed media work alive with the pulse of a wild Lancashire meadow in full rebellion. Here, colour runs riot—poppies jostle with cornflowers, thistles mingle with forget-me-nots, and even the nettles have something to say. Paint spatters and drips evoke drifting pollen and startled insects mid-flight, while long grasses bend as if sharing secrets with the wind.
Look closely and you’ll find nods to countryside quirks: a half-buried crisp packet mistaken for a petal, or perhaps a pair of lost reading glasses tangled in the cow parsley—one of Penwortham’s less glamorous contributions to rural charm.
It’s not a postcard-perfect field; it’s better. It’s alive, unruly, and entirely itself. WhatsApp me on 0790 352 2979 for further details xx
I'm an artist based in the North West, specialising in surreal, abstract storytelling through whimsical and floral-inspired paintings. Working primarily in oils and mixed media, I create imaginative worlds where nature, emotion, and symbolism intertwine.
My work often features hidden elements—small details woven into each piece for viewers to discover—inviting a sense of curiosity and playful exploration.
I hold a BA (Hons) and MA in Fine Art, a PGCE in Art Education, and I'm currently undertaking a PhD. Alongside my practice, I work as an art lecturer and art therapist, both of which deeply inform and inspire my creative process.
Original artworks are available to purchase, and I also welcome commissions.
“Through art, I explore the quiet magic hidden in the everyday—reminding us to pause, wonder, and celebrate this one wild and precious life.”
