I’m currently writing and illustrating my very first children’s book, inspired by the magical world in my paintings.
It’s been a dream of mine for a long time and I’m excited to finally be bringing it to life. I’ll be sharing sneak peeks, updates and a release date here as the project develops.
Creative wellbeing sessions for children, young people and adults, delivered by qualified teacher, Therapeutic Arts Practitioner and professional artist Shiryn Wynter
Not everyone finds it easy to talk about how they’re feeling. Sometimes sitting down with a paintbrush, a pencil or a handful of art materials is enough to start a conversation—or simply provide an hour where life feels a little less overwhelming.
For the past twenty years I’ve worked with children and young people in schools, alongside my career as a professional artist. My creative wellbeing sessions combine those two worlds, using art to help build confidence, reduce anxiety and give people a chance to experience success without pressure or judgement.
No artistic ability is needed. This isn’t about producing a masterpiece. It’s about giving people the time, space and encouragement to explore their creativity in a way that feels comfortable for them.
Whether I’m working one-to-one with a child who’s struggling to attend school, supporting a small wellbeing group or delivering a community art project, every session is planned around the people in front of me. No two groups are ever the same, and that’s exactly how I like it.

Why creative wellbeing?
I’ve seen first-hand how creativity can help people who find other forms of communication difficult. Over the years I’ve worked with children who were reluctant to speak, refused to attend school or struggled with confidence. Often, art provides a starting point. It gives people something to focus on, something to be proud of and, sometimes, a way of expressing feelings they couldn’t put into words.
My aim is simply to create a calm, welcoming environment where everyone feels able to take part, whatever their age, experience or ability.

What Schools Say
“Shiryn has provided ongoing art therapy for a number of our vulnerable pupils, including those who are PP, SEND and CLA. She is consistently reliable, and pupils find her sessions both exciting and highly accessible.
Shiryn creates a welcoming, supportive atmosphere in which pupils feel comfortable to engage and express themselves. After every session, she provides a detailed and insightful report, which is invaluable in helping staff continue to support pupils effectively by embedding appropriate strategies within the classroom.”
Jade Tumelty SENCO St Mary’s Catholic High School, Leyland
“As SENCo, I have seen first-hand the positive impact Shiryn Wynter’s therapeutic art sessions have had on a number of our pupils with additional needs. Shiryn takes the time to understand each pupil’s individual profile and adapts her sessions carefully so that pupils feel secure, included and able to engage.
Pupils respond extremely well to her calm and consistent approach, and several who have found other interventions challenging have accessed her sessions with confidence.
One Year 9 student with ASD who had withdrawn from school because of severe anxiety made small but significant steps forward during a 12-week home-based programme, including leaving their bedroom and beginning to engage in creative activities again.
Shiryn communicates exceptionally well with staff, providing thoughtful reports that help inform future support and classroom strategies. She is reliable, professional and highly skilled in her work with vulnerable pupils, and I would not hesitate to recommend her to other schools.”

FOR SALE ❤️’Turn your face to the sun. ‘This glorious painting has certainly added some colour to a bleak day. Original on canvas. Oils and mixed media, 150cm by 100cm, landscape. £1200 .
A vibrant meditation on nature’s quiet magic, this oil and mixed media painting weaves together the wild grace of roses and meadow blooms in a radiant tapestry of colour. Bursts of crimson, gold, and violet pulse with energy, yet beneath the surface, a sense of stillness prevails — as if the flowers hold their breath in the warmth of a sun-drenched pause. Every stroke is a thread in a silent song, where chaos becomes calm and wildness finds rest in beauty.
